Document recovery experts, like Joe Perko, Director of Field Services with Rapid Refile, LLC agree that this is one of the most common shortfalls in business planning. “Although the experience of Katrina in New Orleans has motivated many companies and organizations in high-risk areas to develop disaster recovery plans, and to incorporate document salvaging as part of those plans, there remains a great number of people and businesses that have not formalized a response to potential property damaged and/or business interruptions” said Joe Perko in a recent interview.

Regardless of the time, it remains very necessary for small businesses to take some steps to ensure a disaster doesn’t take down their entire business. Developing a recovery plan does not have to be difficult, it just takes some time and a little forethought.

You know people who have lost money, time and potentially their livelihoods because they did not have your solutions. If you could ask these people if they would have been happy to invest a comparably small sum of money to avoid this situation they would all say “Yes”. Ahhh, the wisdom of hindsight. Conversely speaking, if your prospects knew that it was going to happen to them and that by taking your solutions they would be covered, they would have their cheque books out and be ringing you right now!.

Your business is all about helping people to minimise the risks of the unforseen and the unwanted happening. You cannot have a sensible business conversation without discussing these risks. In an area where there has been natural disaster and the effects are obvious to see, many people should be glad of your call. You may well find that a lot of companies are already investigating solutions to this issue. Naturally, it goes without saying that you will be courteous, respectful and understanding of people’s feelings and sensibilities during these difficult times.
