Bowdoin College is using VMware Infrastructure 3 for enhanced manageability and business continuity for their IT services.
Partnering with Loyola Marymount University in California, Bowdoin has architected an innovative disaster recovery process leveraging the power of virtualization, to allow Bowdoin and Loyola to maintain copies of their virtual infrastructure at each other’s datacenter, in the case of the emergency.
This allows the colleges to enjoy the security benefits of having a strong disaster recovery plan, without the extraordinary cost of maintaining a warm disaster recovery site.

This post video you through the provisioning of a virtual machine from the template created in Part 1. Templates are not required but if you ever have to create more than one virtual machine you can certainly save a lot of time by just cloning that first install to a template and then provisioning new VMs from it when required. In addition to provisioning the VM, we will also prepare the host for our Agile PLM installation.

A demonstration of how SteelEye DataKeeper Cluster Edition extends Windows Server Failover Clustering to provide high availability and disaster recovery options for your Hyper-V virtual servers.
SteelEye DataKeeper is a highly efficient replication engine that does real-time block level replication of Hyper-V virtual machines from one host server to another. SteelEye DataKeeper “Cluster Edition” integrates with Windows Server Failover Clustering to replace the shared physical disk resource with a DataKeeper replicated volume resource, which enables multi-site clustering and disaster recovery configurations.
